SEO Copy Secrets (That Don’t Make You Sound Like a Robot)

Let’s talk about SEO — Search Engine Optimization. Yep, that thing people say you have to do if you want your website to show up on Google. Sounds a little scary, right? Like you need to speak in code or sprinkle magic dust over your blog posts.
The good news is SEO doesn’t have to be complicated, techy, or boring. And no, you don’t have to stuff your writing with weird keywords like “best productivity hacks life-changing routines ASAP.” (Yowza.)
You can write copy that both humans and search engines love. And I’m gonna show you how — one tea sip at a time. ☕️

1. Know Your Keywords (But Don’t Be Weird About It)

Google users type specific search terms aka keywords. Your job requires you to find these terms and place them into your content in an organic way.
Let’s say someone types in “how to plan a solo trip.” If that’s what your blog post is about, make sure those words show up in the headline, first paragraph, and throughout the content without sounding like a search engine spammer.
Would you say it out loud to a friend? Then cool beans. You’re doing it right.

2. Write for People First

Google is smart (like really smart), and it knows when your writing is actually helpful. Your writing should concentrate on providing super useful information to your audience instead of worrying about search engine rankings.
Answer questions. Solve problems. Make it easy to understand. Bonus points if you make it a little fun. (Dogs, tea, and snacks are always welcome.)

3. Use Headlines and Subheadings

Big blocks of text are a no-no. Use headlines (like the ones in this post!) to break things up and make it easier for readers and search engines to scan. This enables Google to identify the subject of your content.
Hint: Try to sneak your keyword into at least one subheading. Google loves that.

4. Add Internal Links (aka Be Your Own Hype Girl)

Link to your other blog posts, services, or pages where it makes sense. Internal linking structure enables website visitors to stay longer on the site while search engines recognize your content as connected and valuable.
Example: If you wrote a blog about solo travel, link to your packing list or your favorite travel gear guide. Easy peasy.

5. Keep It Consistent

SEO requires a long-term approach because it needs several months to produce results. The more great content you produce the more chances you have to appear in search engine results. So keep writing, keep sharing, and keep showing up like the helpful, friendly genius you are.
You don’t need wizard powers to master SEO — just a little know-how, a sprinkle of strategy, and your own voice shining through.
Start now to create your SEO content by using single words for each step. ✨
